May 11th,
Great Falls fire rescue was called to the N.E.W. building at 401 1st Ave. N. and arrived at about 3:30 pm. No smoke or flame was visable and one unconfirmed report is that it was to do with the fire alarm system and no damage was done to the structure. You can see a ladder that firefighters used to work on the fire bell in the photo below. Being Sunday few employees were present.

Children and adults both were treated to the first carnival of the season today. The rides, games and food were set up on the east end of the Holiday Village shopping mall in the parking lot. This being the first real good weather day it gave many people a welcome break.

The cabin rebuilding project at Gibson Park is moving ahead. The historical cabin now sports a new cedar shingle roof and will soon have new windows and door. Chinking between the timbers will be done and then more finish work can be done on the inside. This is already an interesting thing to see at the park and will only become more so. Newz Blast will bring you updates.
