Deer vs. Car Results In Rollover

An accident that could have easily taken the life of a SUV driver took place early Tuesday morning. The accident took place south of Shelby on I-15 and just over the crest of the Marias River hill in the south bound lanes. The male driver lost control after hitting the animal. The mid-sized SUV he was driving skidded nearly 200 feet then rolled over several times down the hill. Luckily and thoughtfully the driver had his seat belt on and rode out the wreck inside the vehicle. Amazingly, in-spite of all this, plus a severely crushed driver side roof, two eyewitnesses at the scene reported to NBMC that the driver climbed out and was walking and talking. First to arrive was a Toole County deputy and he reported that the driver looked to be in quite good shape and was sitting and talking to him. Both south bound lanes remained closed for nearly two hours and traffic was re-directed onto the Frontage Road.
