End Of The Line For Pizza Depot Building

A building that was once a full service gas station and later became Howard's Pizza of Shelby and finally the Pizza Depot is now meeting its end. Seized by the IRS in 2005, the building's contents were auctioned off and the building went to the Montana Dept. Of Transportation in Helena. Now the State of Montana is razing the building to make way for the upcoming changes to what locals call "The Viaduct", a bridge that crosses the BNSF Railway tracks. That bridge was constructed in the 1930s and has been a site of many fender bender accidents. Citing the advancing age of the bridge, its condition and the accident record officials and the public both have wanted to change and or replace it. Clearing away the Pizza Depot building will make room to widen the roadway and make safety changes where Coyote Pass and Oilfield Ave. meet. Click here for the first story we did about Pizza Depot being seized by the IRS from Patti Warburton of Warburton Corp. and its later sale by them.
