T. Boone Pickens In Montana

Billionaire oilman, T. Boone Pickens, who has a been touring and touting his plan to reduce the USA dependence on imported oil, spoke in Helena on February 27th. Pickens was the keynote speaker at the Montana Ambassadors annual conference, “Energy Jobs for Montana”, held at the Great Northern Hotel. The presentation was at 10:30 a.m. followed by audience questions and noon luncheon. Gov. Brian Schweitzer signed the Pickens Pledge in September, saying he recognized a mutual interest in developing the state and nation’s new energy future, including our tremendous opportunity in renewables like wind power. A panel of energy developers and policy experts discussed the opportunities and challenges Montana faces in trying to bring energy projects to the state.
