Semi-truck Rollover

Just before 6:00 PM today emergency crews were dispatched to a rolled over semi-truck. The accident happened on I-15 just south of Sunburst, Montana. One hour later, Toole County Ambulance rushed at least one person to Marias Medical Center.

Law Firm Vandalized

The Aklestad law firm at the east end of Main Street was vandalized sometime Nov. 27 or early on the 28th. The crime consisted of both front windows being broken with large holes. Toole County Sheriff Department arrived on the morning of the 28th and is investigating. Shelby has had quite a lot of window breakage in the last year including auto glass.

Local Car Dealer Still Selling

At a time when there are record business closures within car dealerships, Van Motors Hi-line keeps going. They even just received a new allotment of cars and pickups. There however remains the big question about whether GM, Ford and Chrysler may even survive. While the federal government argues about how best to deal with the big three automaker's failing health, dealerships are faced with hard decisions. Do they keep their commitments to US car models or move to selling foreign autos. Many dealers already sell a world of models, spreading out there sales possibilities. Dealers everywhere are cutting the selling price as far as possible to attract buyers.

National Christmas Tree Visits Shelby

The National Christmas Tree otherwise known as the Capitol Christmas Tree stopped over in Shelby for about two hours this evening. During that time onlookers filed up to a small window to view the tree under its cover. This year it is Montana's turn to provide the annual tree and since its cutting, the tree has been making its way across northern Montana. The delivery to Washington, DC seems to be taking advantage of the colder weather in the north to better preserve the tree. The tree is being escorted by the National Park Service and several Border Patrol vehicles. For more info and to track the tree in real time click here.
