Here are the facts. Smith receives generous campaign contributions from CEOs and other Big Business interests, including $15,000 from Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart has made its position on workers' rights clear, going as far as requiring its managers and supervisors to sit through mandatory meetings that stress the downside for workers if stores were to be unionized.
Smith has been one of the fiercest critics of the Employee Free Choice Act—our best chance to restore balance to unfair workplaces that currently reward lavishly paid CEOs.
By standing in the way of the Employee Free Choice Act, Senator Smith is standing in the way of working Oregonians who want to build a better life for their families.
He's standing alongside special interests, not your interests.
