Wolflord Leather & Old Wolf Canes and Staffs
About Wolflord Leather:
Greetings and hello, around the community, many know me as the Viking. I am begining specialization in dress accessories, armguards, collars, other simpler and sometimes more detialed projects. I strive to make things you won't find at hottopic or any other conventional place I work with a wide variety of hides- buckskin, leather, suede and furs. As well as many options for customization for studs, stamps, sewing and colors. Price estimates are given upon request, larger/more exotic projects (over $40) require a deposit and communication will be consistent as to progress and details of creation. Things of the armguard and collar sort are fairly simple and I can make easily, things like shoulderpads and harnesses require more detailed measurement, so for those outside of meeting distance, I cannot promise great quality on such things. For canes and staffs, I will soon be posting pictures of more or less "plain" staffs that can be cut down for cane, optioned to have designs burned or dyed in and the embedding or stones (best if you provide stone and other materials to go on it) Also, to find out more about my work just click the link below.

Driver Eludes Police

At about 5:00 p.m. Salem Police were notified of a vehicle coming in on Highway 22. The vehicle had gotten away from Monmouth police and headed for Salem on Highway 22. Polk County Sheriffs had no officer available at the time or in position to pursue. Salem police officers started to set up for the vehicle coming into town. An officer started pursuit in West Salem and across the Center Street Bridge. The vehicle had one male occupant. As the vehicle went through downtown it picked up another officer. Police deployed stop sticks at Center and 12th Street. The driver seen them and turned left onto Capitol headed northbound. The driver ran lights, failed to yield, drove into oncoming traffic, and was speeding at various points along the route. The vehicle finally hit a set of stop sticks and the chase ended at Salem Parkway and Verde Lane in Kiezer. After the suspect was taken unto custody an call from one of the officers to dispatch requested two new tires for one of the patrol cars involved in the pursuit. Comment at the link below.

Canadians Win a Close One

The Vancouver Canadians beat the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes by a score of three to two. This loss for the Volcanoes puts an end to their 11 game winning streak. It was also only the Volcanoes’ sixth loss at home this year. The Volcanoes had chances to tie it late in the game but were unable to come up with a clutch hit. In the eighth inning the Volcanoes had runners on first and second with one out, but Chad Rothford and Garret Baker both struck out. Again in the ninth, the Volcanoes had runners in scoring position again but Jose Flores grounded out to the shortstop to end the game.
The Canadians pitching staff had an impressive night, holding the best-hitting team in the Northwest League to only eight hits. Scott Hodsdon of the Canadians went five solid innings, giving up two runs on six hits. Brent Lysander provided two shutout innings of relief. Justin Friend followed suit, going two more clutch, shutout innings to earn the save, his first of the year. Center fielder Corey Brown of the Canadians lead the charge on offense, going two for three with a double and two runs batted in. Third baseman Justin Frash also had two hits for the Canadians.
One bright spot for the Volcanoes was the monstrous homerun hit to right field by Chad Rothford in the second inning. Rothford went two for four with a run and one run batted in. Matt Downs continues to stay hot, going two for four with a double. Craig Clark started for the Volcanoes, giving up three earned runs in four innings. However, Ryan McGrath and Steve Edlefsen combined to throw five shutout innings of relief.
This was the opening game of this series between the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes and Vancouver Canadians. The Volcanoes will host two more games against the Canadians. Comment at the link below.

Canadians Win, Take the Series

The Vancouver Canadians beat the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes with a score of 4-2. The Canadians were able to take two out of three games in this series. Amazingly, this was the first time the Volcanoes have lost a series all season. Even more surprising is the fact Volcanoes lost this series at home after coming into the game with a home record of 25 wins and 6 losses.
This 4-2 game came down to the final out when Volcanoes leading hitter Matt Downs grounded out to third for a fielder’s choice with the bases loaded. Relief pitcher Lee Land of the Canadians finished the game to earn the save. Inoel Deaza got the win for the Canadians after going seven innings, giving up two runs and six hits. Thomas Brewer of the Volcanoes got the start, going four and a third innings, giving up four earned runs in a losing effort. In relief for the Volcanoes, former Oregon State pitchers Daniel Turpen and Joseph Patterson combined to throw four and two thirds shutout innings, each striking out three.
Vancouver’s second baseman Walter Correa had a solo homerun and scored two runs for the Canadians. Corey Brown also had a good night, going two for four with a double and one run scored for the Canadians. Volcanoes designated hitter Garret Baker went two for three with a double. The Volcanoes hitters had their chances tonight but grounding into three double plays squandered their efforts.
The Volcanoes will now travel to Yakima for a five game series against the Bears. Comment at the link below.

50 VOICES FOR EQUALITY SPOTLIGHT

50 VOICES FOR EQUALITY SPOTLIGHT

For Republican Oregon State Senator Frank Morse (R-Albany), equality is "really how we treat one another." Inherent in that, he says, "is the conviction that we're called to treat all persons irrespective of gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation - whatever the differences may be - with dignity, respect, and love."When asked two years ago to be a co-chief sponsor of Senate Bill 1000, legislation designed to create civil unions for same-sex couples and prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity, Senator Morse knew that it would be a difficult journey, but one he felt compelled to undertake. He recognized that on the one hand he "would be vilified, on the other hand, there would be great appreciation for speaking out to this issue."Because of his stand in support of gay rights, Senator Morse and his wife have been refused service in a restaurant: "That was an interesting experience. I can only imagine what it would be like to be genuinely discriminated against."We invite you to read his entire interview featured on our public education campaign, 50 Voices For Equality.
