There was a grass fire in the 700 block of 3rd St. South. The fire was on the hillside at that location near Mountain View Cemetery. Firefighters had the fire out in about fifteen minutes time just as the flames came within a few feet of a house on that hill. The area that burned had tall dry grass over one foot tall.

The accident took place south of Shelby on I-15 and just over the crest of the Marias River hill in the south bound lanes. The male driver lost control after hitting the animal.
